Pow! We're in London! More specifically, at the British Museum. (I know it's not Ireland, but this is the only British photo so deal with it.) This is a terrible photograph, but a wonderful artifact. It's a clay effigy from . . . oh hell, some culture or other. I've completely forgotten. Of more interest was the situation. I was touring the museum with longtime Pagan writer Steve Hatherley and with my friend Scott Cleverdon, a Scottish actor who recently moved to London. They'd tolerated my quest for Punch and Judy puppets during our walkabout, with Scott supplying his best approximation of Punch's creepy, warbling voice--which I hadn't actually heard before. When I saw this frightening clay figure, I was pretty creeped out. Scott began doing the Punch voice behind me, crying "Hello, John! I'm Harry the Clay Man!" Bastard.
